Vancouver is not a city known for wearing a lot of colour. I have read that Copenhagen, a city with a climate similar to that of Vancouver, compensates for the long damp winters with colourful buildings and clothes. This lady jolted the city out of its monochromatic stupor with everything pink. Thoughts? I think it’s pretty cool.

… Unless she did. I’m unsure why anyone would purposely coordinate the stripe on a nappy napsack with the stripe on their runners. Then again, I’m not sure why someone would wear this clothing in the first place, so I could be way off-base about the matching stripes not being on purpose.

Yoga Pants + Converse = …?

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I see an outfit and say to myself “wow.. those should not be worn together…ever”. Case in point: Converse sneakers and LuLuLemon yoga pants. I don’t know what it is … perhaps it’s the punk, grunge, street and very old-school prep connotations of converse grinding against the uptown, hippy, modern yoga pants. I’m just saying: incense and teen spirit à la Cobain are two smells that don’t mix. In my humble opinion. What say you?

A break from the usual program of what Vancouver’s wearing, I thought these shoes looked interesting enough to post. Not something I’d wear, but they’re at H&M for those of you with bolder sartorial capacities. I dunno who is going to wear these, but this being Vancouver, someone definitely will. Especially if they go on sale.

Apologies for the long interval between posts. I have been very sick. However, that has not stopped me from going to work – nor has it stopped me from finding interesting outfits for your enjoyment. Take the following, for example:

oooooh Dolores! look at this quilt I found!

I just can’t get over it. I can understand how, um, interesting this looks – but it must take serious guts to wear something like this in public. Better yet, check the shoes. They don’t show up clearly, but we’re talking tights, tucked into wool socks, tucked into slippers. Talk about fashion statement.

Sometimes, people know so damn well that they look cool, that it emanates from their clothing. Case in point: this individual wearing moccasins and socks. So, this is it – the new direction of my blog. Instead of focusing on what people *could* be wearing, I am looking at what they *are* wearing. Too Sartorialist, you say? Maybe. Except I’m no photographer. And I want to showcase some, uh, fashion statements that are begging to be shown off to the world.
